All major temple festivals start only after the ‘Dwajarohanam’ is performed. It is a flag hoisting ceremony signaling the start of the auspicious festival. When one sees the flag hoisted and is visible from far and wide, one could understand that the Lord is residing in it.

Is not this unique educational institution named after the Mahaswami and called a ‘Vidya Mandir’ a temple of learning? Therefore is it not appropriate for us to have a ‘Dwajarohanam’ for the launch of this ‘Vidya Mandir’?
His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, the 69th Peetadhipathi of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, waved a specially created flag for the Vidya Mandir and signaled its official launch.
The Vidya Mandir flag is exclusively designed and sports a unique symbol for the school. The unique symbol represents a virtuous circle without a beginning or an end, and represents coexistence of the traditional and the modern. It is created in traditional Indian colours that are considered auspicious - red and yellow. The simple but elegantly designed flag represents our ambition to produce global citizens of tomorrow who have a strong foundation in our tradition and adopt modern ways to lead a balanced life.
