Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam has been in the forefront in promoting the cause of education. It’s heritage includes several prominent educational institutions:

Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Vishwa Maha Vidyalaya, near Kanchi, founded in 1993, a Section 3(1) UGC recognised University. It is widely accepted by scholars from India and abroad as the foremost centre of learning, catering to the needs of modern day education in all its aspects such as Arts, Science, Engineering, Computer Science and Business Management at the graduate and post graduate levels as well ancient studies.

The Library which has over the years collected books, rare manuscripts and other documents serves as a storehouse of knowledge helping promote research in various subjects like Vedanta, Nyaya, Astrology, Mantrashastra, Tantras, etc. It has about two lakh books and manuscripts on all subjects in many languages, plus palm leaf manuscripts collected and classified and also audio and video tapes on religious and cultural subjects. ii] Veda :

Ensuring proper methods of worship, which are different in different temples, necessitates furtherance of the ancient texts (known as Agama) which prescribe these. Agamas are closely linked with the Vedas. So, Vedic study forms the cornerstone of the structure of our religion.
